St. Peter’s Church Service Areas

St. Peter’s Church Service Areas

2025, Galata, Beyoğlu, İstanbul – The project involves the restoration and adaptive reuse of the service areas of St. Peter’s Church in Galata, located within the first two floors of the historic Sen Piyer Apartment. The intervention replaced the former deteriorated and inefficient layout with a healthier and more functional spatial organization.

The ground floor was reorganized to accommodate separate sanitary facilities for men and women along with a workshop area, while the upper floor was transformed into a small studio apartment for hospitality purposes.

Structural reinforcement works were carried out on the existing floors, deteriorated plasters affected by humidity were removed, and a clean material language was adopted throughout the interiors.

Custom furniture and doors were designed and produced in plywood, emphasizing durability, simplicity, and coherence with the restoration approach.
